The SingFirst Music and Movement program is designed for young children to participate with a parent or caregiver. This fall, we will open with classes for children aged one-and-a-half years through 3-year-olds. (We plan to offer classes for babies and older preschool-aged children as well, beginning in Spring 2023.)

Our classes foster musical growth through a developmentally appropriate curriculum and provide support and connection for young families. Each class will include singing, movement, and guided play, using songs with instruments and other props designed for music learning. The emphasis is on engaging children in joyful music-making through immersion and interaction.

Class Schedule

There will be two options for enrollment in this program. There will be a Friday class from 9:30-10:15 a.m. and a Saturday class from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Participants must enroll in one or the other; attending sometimes on Fridays and sometimes on Saturdays is not an option.

The term will be 10 weeks long for fall 2022. Classes will begin on Friday, September 9 and will go through Saturday, November 12. If, during the term, a class must be cancelled by the instructor, there will be a make-up class on November 18 and/or 19.

Need more information? Please contact us and we’ll answer any questions you may have or send you additional details about our programs.

Enrollment and Tuition

Tuition for the 10-week session is $150 (nonrefundable) and is due at the time of enrollment to secure a space in the class.

To sign up via paper form and personal check, please print and complete the enrollment form (PDF) and mail it with a check payable to The Music Clubhouse.

Course Policies

It is very important that students arrive promptly for each class to avoid class disruption and lost class time.

There are no refunds for missed classes. If it becomes necessary to miss a class, please contact us and we can let you know if there is a possibility for a make-up class. If a Saturday student, for example, must miss a class, and there is space available in the Friday class, there may be allowance to switch for that week only. If there is not space, however, there will not be an option to make up the missed class.

Inclement Weather Policy

If Lawrence Public Schools close due to inclement weather, The Music Clubhouse will be closed as well. Our website will be updated in the event of a weather closing. All classes and lessons cancelled due to inclement weather will be rescheduled to the end of the term.

Parking and Music Clubhouse Entrance

The Music Clubhouse is located inside the old portion of the Trinity Lutheran Church building at 1245 New Hampshire Street. Student parking is in the east lot of the church. To access the Music Clubhouse entrance, park in the large lot on the east side of the church, walk along the south sidewalk (13th Street), and look for the Music Clubhouse entrance sign at the far southwest corner of the building. If your teacher is not there waiting for you, ring the doorbell when you arrive and listen for it to unlock for you.

FYI: There is a short flight of stairs at our entrance, so strollers will be cumbersome. If you need a handicap accessible entrance, please contact us and we will arrange an alternate entrance for you.
